Maintenance Assistant

Based in Bracknell

£22,000 – £24,500 - Pension Scheme, Life Assurance - 4 times annual gross reference salary (after confirmation), 26 Annual Holidays

42 hours per week, Mon - Thursday 8.30am-6pm and on Friday 8.30am-5.30pm

Our client is a non-profit distributing, member-based association promoting knowledge and providing specialist services for construction and building services stakeholders.

The Maintenance Assistant will provide support to the Facilities Manager in the construction, repair, operations, maintenance, and security of all company owned buildings and will assist with the commissioning and removal of test rigs(mechanical and electrical).

The  Maintenance Assistant main duties will be to:

  • Carry out day-to-day facilities services including inspection and compliance measurements to ensure smooth running for the business.
  • Support the development of processes and facilitate enhanced performance across the entire estate.
  • Be fully conversant with operation and control of building energy management systems.
  • Assist with ongoing improvements to the estate.
  • Ensure prompt response to assist with out of hours working and emergencies, as they arise.
  • Respond to service requests through Facilities Helpdesk.
  • Assist with continued conformity with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Pursue continued personal development within the role, maintaining good technical and professional knowledge.
  • Provide support to other departments when testing various equipment.
  • Be the designated fire marshal
  • Deputise for Facilities Manager as and when required.

To be successful as the Maintenance Assistant you will possess the following skills & knowledge:

  • Experience in service delivery and facilities management
  • Good practical knowledge of electrical, carpentry and plumbing skills
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety
  • Ability to undertake repairs of plant and equipment under supervision
  • Good understanding of Quality Management (ISO 9001) policies
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill
  • Computer literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Trained/certified in Forklift, MEWP, IPAF, WAH, PASMA desirable

To help sustain its continued growth, there are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Internal Sales Executive.

Their close relationship with leading electronic component manufacturers, together with their own technical and product/market knowledge, enables them to offer commercially attractive propositions to customers.

The Internal Sales Executive will be responsible for the generation of new customer prospects and account managing those prospects from the start of the sales cycle though to the post-sales operations.  To look after assigned existing customers / accounts currently and to develop and increase these accounts accordingly.

Proactively hunt for new companies and generate new opportunities for their products by proactively calling databases names to generate sales leads and then to record and update information on the database.

The role requires an experienced salesperson with:-

  • A technical or other suitable qualification – preferably to HNC level.
  • Preferably a couple of years’ sales experience.
  • An outgoing and presentable manner when communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues even when under pressure.

They are currently recruiting for a Senior Calibration Technician to join their team.  The role is to test, calibrate, operate and repair electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, electrohydraulic, or electronic measuring and recording instruments, apparatus, and equipment in use within Instrument Solutions laboratory

Main duties will include:

  • Operation of and adherence to procedures defined within the quality manual
  • The conduct of traceable & UKAS accredited calibrations under ISO 9001 & BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems, respectively (following training)
  • Contribute to the development of the laboratory systems and processes to improve the business performance
  • The production of calibration and test certificates

Skills and Knowledge required are:-

  • Experience of working in a calibration laboratory to ISO 9001 or ISO17025
  • Ideally previous experience in a UKAS accredited laboratory in the fields such as pressure, temperature, humidity or electrical calibrations
  • Minimum BTEC in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Knowledge of the production of uncertainty budgets
  • Methodical with a practical ability including diagnostic skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  •  A good communicator
  • Numerate and literate as the work involves rudimentary calculations and a significant amount of written materials
  • PC literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft software packages
  •  Use of specialist laboratory software packages such as LabView or IndySoft
  • Ability to work unsupervised to meet deadlines
